, [], At Psalm 49:3 Kimchi indicates that beney adam indicates a lower class
person and beney ish a higher class of person.
This interpretation was suggested by Ibn Ezra and Menachem Ha-Meiri
as well. A Jewish scholar, the late Ze'ev Weisman, followed the same
line in his commentary to this psalm in Olam Ha-Tanach (The world of
the Bible) --a scholarly commentary to the bible, written in Hebrew
between 1983 and 1995 in Israel. It is possible that in Ps. 4:3 it
has the same meaning ("honorable people").
